It seems that the atheist blogosphere has been ablaze over the last day due a fellow in Texas who decided to convert to Christianity after receiving financial support from a group of Christians . Patrick Greene claims to have been an “atheist activist,” although he wasn’t exactly a popular figure in the movement for what he did do.
I don’t have much to add to the whole situation, apart from to point out that Greene looks *shockingly* like Will Ferrell’s take on Haray Caray; and thus by association he looks quite a bit like Haray Caray.
Some are claiming that he was simply paid off into Christianity, while others have attributed this as a grab for attention. I’m not going to speculate or pry into this guy’s head, but either one of those scenarios seems somewhat likely. The fact that he now claims that he wants help to become a preacher makes me personally more suspicious of his motives. Regardless of what is motivations are/were, this was no big loss. There are plenty of rational people to hold this movement together. We’re not going to crumble at the loss of the irreplaceable Patrick Greene.
